Plug & Play

We design all Kuro lighting with the Plug & Play philosophy in mind. The range is friendly in use, effortless to assembly and widely applicable. Connecting Kuro luminaires does not require any transformer or driver, all fixtures simply need wiring to the mains supply. The Kuro family includes full track lighting solutions, wall lights and ceiling lights. The collection can be upgraded with a CASAMBI module to allow wireless dimming control. Kuro luminaires are carefully designed and developed by a team of lighting professionals and subsequently tweaked with input from lighting experts on the field.

Dimming

The Kuro collection consist of several models implemented with a dimming function by TRIAC or CASAMBI.

With a TRIAC dimmer, the brightness of a light can be controlled with a TRIAC-led control system using a rotatable switch. By rotating the switch, you adjust the brightness as preferred.

With a CASAMBI dimmer, controlling the light does not require a rotatable switch. You can keep your regular on/off switch and connect it to your light fitting via a Bluetooth connection. This is possible thanks to the included adaptors compatible with the CASAMBI app. Once installed, the app allows you to create ‘rooms’ mimicking existing light points with Kuro luminaires and to adjust their brightness, colour temperature or to switch them on/off.  Effortlessly control your Kuro lighting from the comfort of your couch with a smart device. CASAMBI can perfectly be connected to classic 3-wire light points.

With a DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) dimmer, you send a dimming control signal to a driver down separate wires to the mains supply. With this dimming technique, you do not directly control the energy passed to the driver. DALI dimming can be applied exclusively to 48V networks.

All dimming functions entail modern technology than can be connected to even the oldest of wirings. No demolition works are involved when applying one of the three dimming techniques.

CASAMBI

To maximize user-friendliness, we have implemented the CASAMBI-Bluetooth controllable dimmer in a range of products. This dimmer is inserted in the adaptor or foot of most Kuro luminaires, making the LED lamps compatible with the dimmer technology.

A CASAMBI module allows for wireless control. The luminaire can be controlled with the CASAMBI app, free to download in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. This full-featured light control system remotely helps you adjust brightness, colour temperature and turn on/off the connected luminaire. Several CASAMBI-compatible luminaires can be connected to the app and controlled from one device, forming an intelligent mesh network. Moreover, in order to simplify the controls, the app allows you to create ‘rooms’ corresponding to your existing light points with the CASAMBI light fixtures. You can control all the lamps simultaneously or separately based on the set configurations.

Anti-glare

Light is an everyday occurrence in our lives. However, light can be uncomfortable and even harmful to our eyes when it exceeds a certain intensity. This intensity of light impairing our vision is known as ‘glare’. To counter this, we have produced LED lighting fitted with anti-glare technology, specifically designed to protect highly sensitive people from severe brightness.

As the name suggests, anti-glare has a lower intensity of glare due to a lower brightness. This type of light produces a gentle lighting, reducing the strain on your eyes while maintaining the same volume of luminosity. We do this through the combination of our lens type and reflectors. Thanks to this technology, we can provide you with ideal lighting and protect you from harmful side-effects.

Zoom & Lens

Our zoomable Kuro spot lights are what they are thanks to the provided lenses. Usual LED lights give a directional light of 180° which is too broad for a regular light fixture, resulting in loss of light intensity over a certain distance. To counter this, we use a clear lens that focuses the light intensity. This provides a more natural lighting effect in daily life as well as a better aesthetic for the fitting. There are several lenses available, the Kuro family are all integrated with 24° diffusers as well as a Chip on Board (CoB) lens type. Thanks to the CoB fully integrated in the luminaires, there’s no need for transformers or extra drivers, ensuring they look sleek and that the tracks used for track lighting are slim and stylish.

48V

We also offer magnetic track systems, better known as 48V rail systems. Low voltage track systems offer a constant voltage of 48V on the track, compared to classic track systems which hold a voltage of up to 240V in used mode. The Kuro 48V track systems are powered by a 48V driver, which provides a constant 48V voltage on the track. The driver is integrated in the track whereas the transformer is usually placed in the electric meter box. This makes the modern technology perfectly applicable to any existing available electricity connection and widely usable, including classic wirings. Kuro 48V track lighting can be placed both horizontally and vertically, allowing turns from wall to ceiling and vice versa. The track systems are dimmable from a distance via DALI. Similar with classic track systems, Kuro 48V track lighting can be upgraded with a CASAMBI dimming module to allow wireless lighting control.

LED Perfect Colour

Thanks to the newly improved CRI >97 value of the Kuro spotlights. The colour rendering index is higher than ever, a unique factor within plug & play systems on the market today. This value, where 100 represents natural daylight, comes so close to being perfect that it shows the colours of what is illuminated in its truest forms. Especially when directing a Kuro spot to highlight a magnificent artwork or beautiful picture on a wall, you are sure it shows it in all its intended glory. When the spots are used in a clothing boutique, for example, the customer walks out with the same-coloured dress as showed and fitted in the shop.
